A Bit About the Artist Kathryn Kaiser
Canadian figurative artist Kathryn Kaiser has been living in Ontario now for a very long time. Kathryn was born in Calgary Alberta. While in Alberta, she studied Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge, as well as at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and the Banff School of Fine Arts. She continues to learn and expand her practice, her knowledge and her understanding.
Kathryn continues to pursue mentorships as well as education to expand her talents and experience. She also works to develop her technical skills and understanding. Pushing to move outside her comfort zone is paramount in her development as an artist. Because of this, her creative influences are expressive figurative artists like Jenny Savillle, Peter Doig, John Hartman and Chris Gwaltney. See Kathryn’s full bio here.
About the Artist Studio & Exhibit Space
Kathryn now has a studio space to call home. Construction of the studio was in 2018, as part of an addition to the main residence. Kathryn designed this project through her company (kmk design). The addition was built and finished by Warren Bennet (Warren Bennet & Sons Contracting Inc.) and Derek Scheffel (Scheffel Construction). Verity Blue Studio serves as Kathryn’s studio and exhibit area. This fabulous space has given the artist an opportunity to work at her craft regularly.
Verity Blue Studio & Gallery is located outside the picturesque village of Coldwater, in Simcoe County Ontario. Our location is about an hour north of the Greater Toronto Area in Lake Country. This area is on the Trent Severn Waterway, between Georgian Bay and Muskoka Lakes. For more about the area, see the Village of Coldwater website here.
